Radiation Detector Fabrication

Quik-Pak delivers custom design and fabrication of radiation sensors for incorporation into products for diverse applications, including medical imaging, homeland security, astrophysics and remote wireless monitoring.   We are at the forefront of innovation for radiation detection systems, thermal management, and image/signal processing. 

Quik-Pak offers: 

  • Solderable pixelated surface metallization for CZT
  • Reworkable CZT bonding technology

    Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) crystals, as well as Mercury Iodide (HgI), Mercury Telluride (HgTe) and Cadmium Telluride (CT), are cut, polished and shaped to meet specific design parameters. They are then enhanced with a low temperature solderable metallization and a proprietary coating which limits further oxidation, thereby reducing edge pixel leakage current.

    The Flip Chip crystal sensor is then soldered onto a high-density printed circuit board or ASIC, using chip stacking technology and a reliable low-temperature soldering process that combines solder-bump bonding and underfill encapsulation in one operation.

    Quik-Pak combines years of packaging expertise with the latest Flip Chip assembly techniques, to enable the creation of custom sensor modules, which can be used individually or in arrays.
